About Pāli
What are the chances of two puzzle enthusiasts, who want to retell captivating stories and folktales through jigsaw puzzles, coming together to establish a company named Pāli?
•
Pāli (PAH-lee) is an ancient language that dates back to 300 B.C.E. Due to its cultural significance and its use in conveying astonishing tales since the time of the Buddha, we have chosen to honor this historic language.Although we cannot use Pāli itself to share the stories, our love for them and for the gentle way that puzzling takes us away from our screens and lets us de-stress is our main driving force. The dual purpose of having the puzzle image be intriguing to display when completed but also serve as a conversation starter is what makes Pāli special. With this in mind, we have collaborated with our artists to carefully design each puzzle image so that anyone looking at the completed puzzle will be drawn into a fascinating story. Our ancestors have preserved these stories for generations, and we cannot wait to share them, piece by piece.

Our very first puzzle features a mythical, snake tail-eating, underwater being called Chhepu, who plays an important role in the founding of the Kathmandu Valley.
Nepal is an ancient country with a rich history. Centuries of being inhabited by an eclectic group of peoples, ideas and religions brought with it a plethora of folktales. As with all myths, there are variations and lost details with each retelling. This, however, is our favorite interpretation of the Chhepu's story.
What role does Chhepu play in this mythical tale?
Is it a creator, a protector, or a destroyer?
Find out more about this legendary being in the booklet included with our puzzle!
